SAN ANGELO, TX — Unseasonably warm temperatures are expected across West Central Texas through Monday, with the National Weather Service forecasting several days of near-record or record-breaking heat.
Highs in San Angelo are projected to reach the mid to upper 80s from Friday through Monday. Sunday is expected to be the warmest, with a high near 88 degrees and a 76% chance of tying or breaking the daily record of 87 set in 2021. Normal highs for mid-November are near 70 degrees.
Abilene is also expected to see record-challenging temperatures, including a forecast high of 87 degrees Friday, which carries a 98% chance of surpassing the 1989 record of 84.
The warm stretch is expected to continue until early next week, when a slight cool-down and small chances of rain enter the forecast. A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms begins late Tuesday, increasing to 30% on Wednesday and 40% on Thursday.
