ASU Theatre Opens Fall Dinner Show With 'The Great American Trailer Park Musical'

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - University Theatre at Angelo State University will present "The Great American Trailer Park Musical" for its fall dinner theatre production, beginning Tuesday, Nov. 18, in the ASU Modular Theatre inside the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building at 2602 Dena Drive.

Performances will run for one week only. Show times will be at 8 p.m. each night Nov. 18-22, with the doors opening for dinner service at 6:45 p.m. There will also be a Sunday matinee finale Nov. 23 at 2 p.m., with the doors opening for dinner service at 12:45 p.m.

Tickets are $25 for the general public, $20 for Arts at ASU subscribers and non-ASU students, and $15 for ASU students and ASU activity card holders. Tickets are available for purchase online at angelo.edu/boxoffice or through the ASU box office in the Carr EFA Building.

In "The Great American Trailer Park Musical," there is a new tenant at Armadillo Acres, and she is wreaking havoc all over Florida's most exclusive trailer park. When Pippi, the stripper on the run, comes between Jennie, a Dr. Phil-loving agoraphobic, and her tollbooth-collector husband, the storms begin to brew. With music spanning country, blues, rock and R&B, the production is an all-American odyssey through themes that include agoraphobia, adultery and roadkill.

*This production contains adult language and situations. It is not intended for audiences under the age of 16.

Under the direction of Derek Rhein, instructor of theatre, the ASU student cast includes Mia Harryman, Mitchell Martinez, Sydney Fisher, Lawrence Smiley, Kate Yantis, BrittNee Smith and Addie Gregoire. Understudies include Robyn Wagner, Edmund Davies, Catalina Perry, Francisco Rodarte, Jordan Chapman and Analisa Tony. 

The student production staff and crew include Kirby Paugh, music director; El Lewis, assistant music director; Alec Ochoa Razo, stage manager; Gabbie Flores, assistant stage manager; Samual Molho, scenic designer/props designer; Alexis Crawford, assistant scenic designer; Zjay Wright and Maddox Caldwell, assistant lighting designers; Natalie Madrid, costume designer; Ayla Doran, assistant costume designer; JaNae Wilson, sound designer; Ren Dutton, assistant props designer; and Zaiden Lopez, assistant technical director. ASU's staff technical director, Lance Turner, is the lighting designer/technical director.
