Ford Focus and Toyota Prius Collide, No One Saw a Thing

A Toyota Prius and a Ford Focus collided in the intersection of W. Beauregard Ave. and Koenigheim St. just after 4:30 p.m. today.

According to the San Angelo police, the Prius was enjoying a peaceful westward drive down W. Beauregard. As the Prius entered the busy intersection crossing Koenigheim, the driver claimed a green light offered safe passage. No so, claimed the driver of the Ford Focus. The Focus driver was eastbound on Beauregard, but making a left turn northbound onto Koenigheim. The Focus driver claims a green arrow gave him the right-of-way.

The cars collided in the middle of the intersection.

Police said that no witnesses came forward to identify which driver was correct in his or her recollection of the crash.

The Prius driver was not seriously injured, and the Ford Focus driver was rushed to the hospital complaining of injuries.

Police are seeking video from businesses adjacent to the crash to determine who did not have the right-of-way. If no further evidence is found, no citations will be issued.
