TLCA’s Cuevas Sets School Record at District Cross Country Meet

 

ABILENE, TX — San Angelo TLCA’s Zechariah Cuevas set a school record Wednesday at the District 6-3A Cross Country Meet.

Cuevas ran a time of 17 minutes, 24 seconds to finish in fourth place on the 5,000-meter course at Abilene Christian University.

Cuevas helped TLCA to a third-place finish in the team standings, qualifying the Eagles for the area meet.

Jim Ned’s Kenny Pritchard won the meet in 16:03, leading the Indians to the team title with 31 points. Wall was second with 63, while TLCA had 72.

On the girls side, Clyde’s Sky Phariss claimed the individual title in 11:53, edging Wall’s Mckenzie Lopez by eight seconds.

Wall’s girls won the team title, while Jim Ned was second with 48 and Merkel was third with 100. TLCA was fifth with 139.
