Walmart Honors Flood Victim With Memorial Parking Spot

SAN ANGELO, TX — Tanya Burwick, who was killed during the July 4 flooding in San Angelo, had her favorite parking spot memorialized at the Walmart where she worked.

The Walmart Neighborhood Market, 1852 Sherwood Way, painted the parking spot, which sits next to a shopping cart corral, with a yellow ribbon over a dark blue background.

Burwick, 62, was a graduate of Bronte High School and a longtime resident of Blackwell.

She had worked at the Walmart Neighborhood Market since 2015.

The public is allowed to use the memorial parking space, Walmart confirmed.
