Firefighters Respond to Blaze on FM 1223

WALL, TX — Firefighters responded to the report of a structure fire Saturday afternoon on FM 1223 outside San Angelo.

They arrived to find a barn engulfed in flames in the 5800 block of FM 1223.

The fire was reported at about 1 p.m., and it is unknown how it began.

The Wall Volunteer Fire Department responded, along with Tom Green County Sheriff’s Deputies and DPS State Troopers.

Because there was no fire hydrant, the Wall VFD connected a hose to the exterior of the house to help put as much water as possible into the pumper to extinguish the fire.

Goodfellow Air Force Base also sent a unit to assist with water.

There were no injuries reported.
