SAN ANGELO, TX – O.H. Ivie Lake has been ranked the No. 2 bass fishing lake in the United States for 2025, according to Bassmaster’s annual list of the Top 10 Best Bass Lakes.
The ranking highlights O.H. Ivie’s consistent production of trophy bass, with the lake producing 30 Toyota ShareLunker bass—each weighing 8 pounds or more—through the first four months of 2025. Seven of those fish weighed more than 13 pounds.
Located about three hours from both the Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio-Austin metro areas, O.H. Ivie has become a national hotspot for anglers. The lake was previously ranked the best bass lake in the country in 2023 and placed second in 2022 and 2024.
Other Texas lakes also made the top 10, including Lake Fork at No. 3. Clear Lake in California took the top spot.
Bassmaster’s list is based on tournament results, catch data, and input from state fisheries biologists and anglers nationwide.
