SAN ANGELO, TX — Jessica Skinner, a respected San Angelo trial attorney, announced her candidacy for Tom Green County Court at Law Judge in the Republican Primary on March 3, 2026.
Skinner is running for the open seat following the retirement of the Honorable Judge Ben Nolen.
A distinguished graduate of Austin College and Baylor Law School, Skinner brings over 15 years of legal experience, having handled thousands of complex civil and criminal cases with integrity and compassion. Renowned for her diligence and commitment, she has earned a strong reputation in Tom Green County and across Texas.
“Tom Green County’s judicial system is rooted in excellence and fairness,” Skinner said. “As judge, I will uphold this tradition by protecting the vulnerable, ensuring swift case resolutions, holding wrongdoers accountable, and implementing innovative programs to prevent minor offenses from escalating into felonies.”
Skinner is among the elite 1% of Texas attorneys board-certified in Family Law. She chairs the local Grievance Committee, overseeing ethics complaints against attorneys, and has been a sought-after speaker at state and local continuing legal education conferences.
Beyond her legal career, Skinner is a dedicated community member and mother of three, having coached numerous youth sports teams, including football, baseball, basketball, and soccer, over the past decade.
“I’ve spent my career preparing for this role, where fairness, attentive listening, and a deep understanding of the law are paramount,” Skinner said. “As judge, I will serve with thoughtfulness and unwavering commitment to delivering justice for our community.”
The County Court at Law handles critical matters, including civil disputes, probate, criminal cases, and guardianships. Skinner is poised to bring her expertise and dedication to this vital role.
