OAK CLIFF, TX –– New details have been released in a love triangle that left a Texas man dead last year.
According to authorities, back in October of last year, Jennifer Faith and her husband, Jamie, were walking their dog just after 7 a.m.
A masked suspect ran up behind the couple and shot Jaime multiple times –– three times in the head, three times in the torso, and once in the groin area.
The assailant then duct-taped Mrs. Faith's hands and attempted to rob her of her jewelry, but gave up and fled the scene.
After the horrific killing, the community rallied around Faith and her daughter, even raising more than $60,000 with a GoFundMe online fundraiser.
Four months later, authorities arrested Faith for her alleged involvement in a murder-for-hire plot.
According to federal authorities, Faith had rekindled a relationship with her high school sweetheart, 49-year-old Darrin Lopez, who lived in Tennessee. In emails obtained by investigators, Faith told Lopez her husband was abusive.
She would even go as far as creating a fake email account under her husband's name and then sent emails bragging to Lopez about how he abused Faith, both sexually and emotionally.
One of the emails included a picture of Faith where she had multiple bruises. The message accompanying the image read, "Good stuff. Enjoy knowing you can't do a f---ing thing about it."
The image depicting the alleged abuse was actually of injuries Faith sustained during a car crash nearly a decade before.
Faith then created a second fake email and pretended to be someone who knew of the alleged abuse.
During his conversations with that individual, Lopez claimed he wanted to "put a bullet" in her husband's head, but that Faith kept telling him no.
The "unidentified male" then told Lopez, "If it were up to me I would tell you to go for it with your idea—lol; I'll give you an alibi."
After police arrested Lopez for his involvement, they found more than 200 calls and 100,000 text messages between himself and Faith. Several of the conversations included discussions of the victim's life insurance and retirement account.
At this time, neither suspect has entered a plea.
