Smugglers Abandon 500 lbs of Reefer in SUV

 

LAREDO – The search of an abandoned SUV led authorities to discover approximately 500 pounds of marijuana near Father McNaboe Park in Laredo.

According to the U.S. Border Patrol,  on September 8th, agents received a tip claiming suspects were loading the bundles into the vehicle.

When agents arrived at the scene, they located the abandoned SUV with seven bundles of the devil's lettuce weighing more than 477 pounds. The estimated value of the drugs is more than $380,000.

The drugs were turned over to the DEA.
