Woman Killed After Boyfriend's Gun Accidentally Discharges

 

HOUSTON – An accidental shooting claimed the life of a Texas woman in Houston early Tuesday morning.

According to the Houston Police Department, shortly after midnight officers and EMS were dispatched to the 6500 block of Goforth St. for reports of a shooting victim.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim's boyfriend was unloading his gun when the gun went off.

The victim, who has not been identified, was shot in the chest. The woman succumbed to her injuries before EMS arrived at the scene.

The incident is currently being investigated as an accidental shooting based on witness statements.

Police confirmed both the victim and her boyfriend were in their 20s.
