Police Officer Hospitalized After Smashing Into Semi

 

AUSTIN, TX –– An officer with the Austin Police Department is in critical condition after a horrific crash with an 18-wheeler.

According to APD, the officer was driving a marked patrol vehicle at around 2:00 a.m. on FM 969 when he rear-ended a trailer making a U-turn in front of him.

The patrol vehicle was severely damaged, with the front of the car completely smashed.

The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash.

They will probably charge the driver of the semi with a crime. Or the cop will sue the semi driver, like the motorcycle cop did when he rear ended someone, although I don't know if that is public info yet.
