LUBBOCK, TX –– A 35-year-old Odessa man is facing federal charges after police say he traveled to Lubbock to have sexual relations with an 11-year-old girl.
According to the federal complaint, authorities executed a search warrant in the home of a female in Lubbock.
Law enforcement received a CyberTip that indicated the woman was sex trafficking a child. During the investigation, the woman told police she was contacted by a number of people through Skout, a messaging app.
The woman confirmed she was occasionally kicked off of Skout after she had sexually explicit conversations about kids with other individuals.
One of those individuals was Andrew Jaquez of Odessa.
According to the complaint, Jaquez told the woman he lived alone and was employed cleaning cars in a car lot.
The woman told police she dated Jaquez for a year or two –– but never met in person. She told authorities they both exchanged sexually explicit images and videos of each other.
But eventually, the couple broke up because Jaquez kept talking about doing sexually explicit graphic things with children.
The woman told police she told Jaquez about her 11-year-old niece and shared a picture of the child.
Jaquez then asked the woman if she would allow him to have sex with the young child. The woman alleged she would go along with Jaquez, but "didn't really mean it."
The day the woman's home was raided police seized her phone and began communicating with Jaquez.
Approximately three hours into the conversation, the FBI claimed “Jaquez took the conversation in a sexual direction," after they told him the 11-year-old was staying with the woman.
Jaquez then began stating all the sexually explicit things he wanted to do with the child. When the undercover agent asked if Jaquez has ever been with someone young, the 35-year-old described the sexual acts he performed with a 13-year-old girl. The teen was the younger sister of a friend.
The undercover agent then provided Jaquez with a new phone number –– claiming it belonged to the 11-year-old girl.
Jaquez began messaging the second number and sent a photo of his genitals. He then asked if he could perform sex acts on her and asked if she would do them in return.
The undercover agents then made plans for Jaquez to meet with the 11-year-old and the woman on July 7th.
When Jaquez arrived at the agreed location he admitted to sending the messages. He also told law enforcement he fantasized about minors.
Jaquez then told police he had messaged and exchanged sexually explicit photographs with a 15-year-old girl.
Jaquez was charged with enticement and attempted enticement of a minor.
