Family Upset After Finding Body Parts at Crash Site

BEAUMONT, TX – After a horrific crash claimed the lives of three people, a Beaumont family is demanding answers. A few days after the horrible crash, the family discovered a body part left behind by investigators.

According to the Beaumont Police Department, the fatal crash occurred shortly before 7:00 p.m. on June 22. The preliminary investigation revealed Braxton Socia, 48, Mandy Socia, 45, and Melissa Hargrove, 47, were traveling on Cardinal Drive when the vehicle left the highway.

The car ended up striking a utility pole near the bottom of the embankment -- killing the occupants. The couple left behind three children.

According to the family, five days after their loved ones were killed they visited the site to look for any memento that may have belonged to either passenger.

While at the scene they discovered human remains.

"We're upset and unhappy that we had to discover remains several days after the crash," said Joel Wiggins Sr, Mandy's father. "I don't know how that happens and would want to know from Beaumont Police how that can happen."

When local media reached out to the Beaumont Police Department they issued the following statement.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family," said Sgt. Cody Guedry. "That was a horrific scene that encompassed a large area after impact was made."
