Watch: Man Killed After Race Car Barrels Into Spectators

 

FABENS, TX -- A crash during a mud-track event in Fabens claimed the life of at least one person on Sunday.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, as a race began one of the vehicles lost control and crashed into a guardrail. Investigators confirmed three additional cars also struck the guardrail.

At least eight people were injured after the vehicle struck the crowd of spectators. Two victims remain in critical condition but are stable, while 5 suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim killed in the crash was identified as 21-year-old Willie Valadez Ramirez.
