Intoxicated Driver Kills Teen In Fatal Crash

 

LUBBOCK, TX – A major crash in Lubbock left one person dead and two in serious condition on Friday evening.

According to the Lubbock Police Department, the crash occurred around 7:41 p.m. near the intersection of 19th Street and Slide Rd.

The subsequent investigation revealed 21-year-old Joshua Torres was traveling south on Slide Rd. when he collided into a vehicle in the westbound lane attempting to turn south.

Inside the second vehicle, there were three occupants:  the driver, 39-year-old Ashley Worrell, 17-year-old Jackson Bradley, and a 14-year-old male.

Torres only suffered minor injuries, while Worrell and Bradley suffered moderate injuries.

The teen succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Torres was treated for his injuries and later booked on charges of intoxication manslaughter.

He was released after posting a $36,000 bond.
