Thieves Arrested for Stealing Lumber Amid Skyrocketing Prices

 

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The Bexar County Sheriff's Office has confirmed two men are in custody after they allegedly stole lumber from a construction site.

According to law enforcement, 25-year-old Erik Maldonado and 24-year-old Christopher Gutierrez were found in possession of 129 pieces of stolen lumber.

The alleged theft occurred on Sunday in far west Bexar County. After the vehicle involved was identified, deputies located the driver and performed a traffic stop. The deputies then located the stolen lumber pieces in the bed of the truck.

Maldonado and Gutierrez were charged with felony theft. The stolen items had a value of $2,964.00.
