Police Arrest Disturbed Arsonist After Two Fires

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The San Antonio Police Department has arrested a man accused of burning his father's home down last Saturday.

According to SAPD, 25-year-old Eric Hernandez set fire to his bed on April 17th. The fire would eventually spread throughout the house.

According to the suspect's father, this was not the first time Hernandez had set a fire at the home.

The home, which was declared a total loss, was valued at more than $240,000 and the contents had an estimated value of $80,000.
Police investigators also believe Hernandez set fire to the neighbor's car that same day. The car was worth approximately $40,000 and the damage to the driveway was estimated at $10,000.
Hernandez has been charged with arson of a home and arson of a vehicle. His bond has been set at $100,000.
