Police: Suspect Dragged Friend After Robbery

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 25-year-old man is behind bars after he allegedly dragged a friend for more than a mile in San Antonio.

According to SAPD, the altercation began when 25-year-old Derrick Bass asked to see the victim's gun back in November. The two men had known each other for about a year and had been co-workers at one point.

After the victim showed Bass the firearm, the suspect excused himself to go to the bathroom. The victim then saw Bass leave the apartment with a bunch of cash. The victim told police he had between $15,000 - $19,000 in a bedroom drawer.

Bass ran to his vehicle and attempted to leave the scene. The victim then grabbed onto the passenger side of the car. The suspect then dragged the barefoot victim for more than a mile.

The suspect finally slowed down enough to allow the victim to let go. He required stitches for his injuries.

Bass was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony. His bond was set at $50,000.
