SAN ANGELO, TX – Three San Antonio teens have been arrested in connection to a violent carjacking.
According to SAPD, a 24-year-old man claimed he had been invited to a Quality inn motel by one of the teenagers.
The individual arrived at the motel early Friday morning and was allegedly pistol-whipped by the teens and robbed of his car, wallet, and cellphone. It is unclear at this time why the man was meeting the teens.
A short time later SAPD officers spotted the stolen vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
Instead of complying, the driver took off and led officers on a high speed chase.
According to officers, the driver ran through multiple red lights and reached speeds up to 100 miles per hour during the chase.
The chase ended in west Bexar County after deputies threw down spikes on the roadway to flatten the tires.
The three teens, ages 14, 15, and 16, were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, vehicle theft and evading arrest.
