LUBBOCK, TX – A federal judge has ordered a popular Lubbock dentist to remain in custody until his trial on child pornography charges. The suspect was arrested by the FBI and has pleaded not guilty to charges related to child pornography.
According to court documents, Jason Paul White was indicted on three charges by a federal grand jury a few days ago. White was charged with receipt and distribution of child pornography, production of child pornography, and enticement of a minor.
As of January, at least 8 victims have come forward against White. The latest victim, who was 13-years-old at the time, claimed there was “hands-on” contact by White.
Prosecutors brought forth new evidence during a January hearing that included child pornography involving an infant. Additionally, two victims came forward and alleged inappropriate sexual relationships with White.
One of the victims was 14 when White was 18 and the other was 15 when White was 26.
According to a detective with the Lubbock Police Department, they received multiple tips regarding potential victims.
In addition to the federal charges, White also faces state charges for an alleged sexual performance by a child.
After the criminal charges were brought by the courts, a civil lawsuit was filed against White accusing the dentist of sexually assaulting a minor. The victim's attorney alleges White "has a porn business." They are suing White for $10 million.
“He’s offered money to minor children for them to produce pornography. He’s touched children inappropriately," said attorney, Kevin Glasheen. "And this is apparently, according to the evidence that we’ve discovered, has been going on a long time and is widespread conduct that involves a lot of other people."
After pleading not guilty White was ordered to remain in custody until his trial, which has been set for April 5, 2021.
