FBI: Austin Realtor Arrested For Storming the Capitol

 

AUSTIN, TX -- The FBI continues its investigation into those involved in the January 6th insurrection and the latest arrest is a realter from Austin.

According to the FBI, 34-year-old Joseph Cable Barnes was recogized from ITV News footage. The witnesses then contacted the FBI and identified a male seen wearing a dark beanie, an American flag gaiter, and a dark-colored winter jacket with a fleeced neckline.

According to the FBI affidavit, video evidence shows Barnes saying “This is our house! This is our country! This is our country!” while inside the building.

The affidavit indicates Barnes was identified by a high school classmate, a recent acquaintance, and someone who knew him from his real estate business.

Additionally, the FBI identified Barnes using images found on a Facebook page titled  “Joe Barnes Art."

The photos that appeared on social media were used to confirm his identity.

One of the photos allegedly shows s Barnes pointing an assault-style rifle at the camera with the caption, “A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither.”

Barnes has been charged with violent entry or disorderly conduct, entering a restricted building or ground, and obstructing a formal proceeding.
