Illegal Alien Charged With 19 Counts of Human Trafficking

 

ALBANY, TX -- An illegal alien is facing 19 charges of human trafficking after police found 19 people in a pickup truck.

According to the Shackelford County Sheriff's Office, 34-year-old Francisco Alfredo Lopez-Cubillas was pulled over in Albany. Lopez-Cubillas is a Mexican national. 

Officers at the time suspected he was intoxicated while driving his Ford F-150.

Officers located 5 people in the cab with Lopez-Cubillas and later found  14 people under a Tonneau cover. The cover had been bolted down to the bed of the pickup.

According to Shackelford County Sheriff Ed Miller, the victims ranged in age from 17 to 60. They were from Brazil, Guatemala, Mexico, and Honduras.

Lopez-Cubillas had picked up the victims in El Paso and was headed to Dallas.
