Thanksgiving Shooting Begins With Lover's Quarrel

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Thanksgiving dinner turned violent after a man showed up uninvited to his ex-wife's party in San Antonio.

According to SAPD, the ex-husband, who has not been identified, showed up at the ex-wife's holiday celebration and confronted her about the new partner.

The suspect then got into an argument with a family member and brandished a gun. He began shooting and struck at least two people; one in the hand and one in the buttocks.

According to SAPD Captain Eric Hightower, this prompted another family member to take out his gun and shot the suspect a couple of times.

The man then left the scene and drove himself to the hospital.

According to Hightower, the victim shot in the buttocks is in stable condition and was transported to the San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC).

The victim shot in the hand was treated at the scene and opted to not visit the hospital.

Police located the ex-husband and he was also transported to SAMMC to be treated for serious trauma and life-threatening injuries.

He could face at least two counts of Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon.

The family member who shot the ex-husband has not been charged as it appears he was acting in self defense.
