Work Crew Finds Body Dumped On Side of the Road

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- A work crew in Bexar County made a startling discovery on Thursday afternoon.

In an area known for illegal dumping, one of the crew members noticed a tarp bundle that appeared heavier than normal.

“So, they stopped, saw that it appeared to be a human body wrapped in a tarp and so they called for us,” said Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar. “It does indeed look like human remain remains wrapped up in a tarp and dumped off on the road.”

According to Salazar, it is too early to determine the age and gender of the person. But he did confirm it appears that the body had been recently dumped.

“There’s not an advanced state of decomposition,” said Salazar. “What they [investigators] did make note of is that going off insect activity, it doesn’t seem to be that this body has been out here for a terrible amount of time, it may be fairly recent.”

The crime scene was processed for hours and according to Salazar the main indication the tarp had a body inside was the hair coming out from the inside.

“We don’t know if it’s somebody that’s maybe balled up in a fetal-type position or if it’s someone who unfortunately could be cut up, we just don’t know yet,” said Salazar.
