Sexagenarian Killed In Weather Related Crash

 

KRESS, TX -- A 68-year-old driver was killed in a weather-related crash on Tuesday morning.

According to DPS, the victim, identified as Tommy Day, was traveling west on FM 928 in Swisher County.

Traveling east was 30-year-old Eric Ramirez.

Ramirez lost control of his vehicle on an icy roadway and crossed over the center stripe and crashed head-on into Day's vehicle.

Day succumbed to his injuries at the scene and according to authorities, he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Ramirez was seriously injured and transported to Plainview Memorial Hospital. DPS confirmed he was wearing a seatbelt.
