SAPD Arrests 24 Alleged Street Racers

 

SAN ANTONIO, TX --The San Antonio Police Department has confirmed the arrest of 24 suspects involved in street racing early Tuesday morning.

According to SAPD, officers located the group in a parking lot on the 600 block of West Theo.

The night before the group had allegedly committed multiple violations by blocking off intersections and driving in doughnuts. They also threw rocks and bottles at police cars and damaged property.

The preliminary report indicated the group planned on meeting up in several locations.

A total of 33 charges were handed down and 12 vehicles were towed.

A second arrest also took place in the parking lot of Bexar County Academy around 11 p.m.

At least eight people were arrested after police found more than 100 cars gathered.
