The Hunt for a Fugitive Child Predator Comes to an End

SAN MARCOS, TX – The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force captured the 22-year-old child predator who sent a video of himself molesting an infant.

According to KTXS, on September 10, United States Marshals with the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Brice Gage Watkins, 22, for distribution of child pornography, manufacturing child pornography and three counts of lewd acts with a child under 12.

The arrest came after a warrant was issued for Watkins after he allegedly sent a video of himself molesting an infant to two women on Facebook messenger.

Police were alerted to the incident on August 11 after one of the women told police she knew the child and the house in the video. She claimed that she was friends with the child's mother and was sent the message on Facebook with the caption "who's child is this." Police then spoke with the other woman who claimed she opened the video a day later and saw the inappropriate act.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Watkins and on August 14 the Norman, OK Police Department announced that Watkins had been arrested. Meanwhile on Facebook Watkins posted that he actually wasn't arrested and that they had the wrong guy.

Two days later the Norman Police Department realized they had arrested the wrong guy. The man in jail was a homeless man who refused to identify and ran from police. He matched Watkins description but was not him.

The hunt continued for the fugitive child predator and on September 10 it came to end thanks to the USMS Lone Star Fugitive Task Force- Austin Division.

Just after 3:30 p.m., the Marshals captured Watkins in San Marcos. He is now in federal custody.
