Fort Hood Soldier Confesses to Assaulting a Woman

KILLEEN, TX — The San Antonio Police Department has confirmed a Fort Hood soldier has been charged with sexual assault.

According to KTXS, 20-year-old Michael Freitas knew the victim through the Army, but they met on Tinder. Freitas and the victim made plans to visit the La Quinta Inn & Suites in November of 2019.

He then reportedly removed the victim’s clothes and even though she told him to stop repeatedly and tried to push him away he sexually assaulted her.

According to police, when Freitas was interviewed by investigators, he “provided inconsistent statements to Special Agents assigned to Fort Hood US Army CID."

Freitas would later admit to assaulting the victim even after she told him to stop. He also confessed to lying to investigators.
