"According to CPS, this is the 6th hot car that has occurred in Texas in 2020."

With this heatwave lately, surely there have been more than 6 hot cars in Texas in 2020.

Respect the facts, sir.

Now if we could just build a model on this and similar data, we could anticipate when, where, and which cars are likely to become hot in Texas.

That said, it's terrible that this has happened, and I hope that others will be more cautious knowing that their vehicles may become lethally hot, for whatever reason.

... that I was being disrespectful about the incident. When my children were young it never crossed my mind to leave my children in the car for even a moment. My children are adults now but to this very day they are still very precious to me. So just in case anyone took my reply to ZZ's comment about his or her Sunglasses as disrespectful towards the event of the article I would like to say I absolutely meant no disrespect. Ya'll have a pleasant weekend! (... I said "his or her" because I don't really know who ZZ is or male or female... since so many people on this rant page don't use their real names... with the exception of a few ... including myself)

I never did understand how someone could forget their baby in a vehicle accidentally, for any length time. Ive heard the stories of, "Well, i don't usually take little Johnny to daycare so i forgot he was in the car for 8 whole hours while I was at work." It simply is inconceivable. Kids wandering off at the store or park? Oh yea happens no matter how well you watch them. Drowning? Again, common cause of death amongst kids even while in close proximity to the parents. Kid got into someone's oxycontin? A bit worse but my feeble mind can still see this as an accident. How do you forget there is a whole ass other person within 4 ft of you, and not just any person one you physically had to buckle in yourself and more than likely has cried or whined at some point during a 20 minute ride, crapped its pants, etc if its a toddler it probably talks and never shuts up. I cant accept this as an accident. I can only see it as intentional neglect. Its like if someone was doing laundry and their kid crawled into the dryer and you saw them do it, you even helped them do it and after you put the clothes in you forgot the kid was in their, closed the door and turned it on. It does not make sense.
