Coronavirus: GoFundMe Set Up For San Antonio Firefighter

SAN ANTONIO, TX — After a firefighter with the San Antonio Fire Department lost his life to COVID-19, a GoFundMe has been set up in his honor to help his family.

According to KTXS, Fire Apparatus Mechanic Hector Rodriguez served the City of San Antonio and the SAFD for 29 years. During his nearly three decades of service to the community, Rodriguez worked on keeping fire trucks and ambulances running.

“Hector was known by many of his SAFD family as an extremely hard worker who truly loved his job, serving the City of San Antonio for over 29 years,” said the family in the GoFundMe. “The many memories of Hector that we all cherish will ensure that his legacy will forever hold a place in the hearts of all of the San Antonio Fire Department. During this extremely difficult time, we ask that you keep his wife Isabelle, and his entire family, in your thoughts and prayers.”
