KINGSLAND, TX — After receiving calls to investigate animal welfare in a Llano County home, sheriff’s deputies rescued a total of 26 animals last Friday.
According to KTXS, on June 21 the sheriff’s office received a call complaining about the conditions the animals were being subjected to at that residence.
According to authorities the owner of the home cooperated with the deputy investigating the claim and interviewed the other residents of the house. According to authorities, the residence housed 15 dogs, 7 cats, 3 pigs, and 1 goat.
After the responding deputy visited the home the sheriff’s office submitted a Probable Cause Affidavit to a Llano County judge. After reviewing the affidavit and collected evidence, the judge a warrant was issued, and deputies seized the animals.
The dogs and cats were taken to the Hill Country Humane Society and the livestock animals were taken to the Livestock Animals were taken to another location to be housed.
Charges are still pending for the homeowners.
