Father and Son Killed In Horrific Freeway Crash

HOUSTON, TX – A father and his four-year-old son were killed on Saturday night after being run over on the freeway.

According to KTXS, the father was traveling on 45 North Frwy when he lost control of his Jeep and hit the inside left retaining wall. The crash damaged the tires and wheels on the driver’s side.

The father then attempted to cross the freeway while holding his son. A driver in a silver Toyota sedan didn’t see the pedestrians in time and stuck them, killing both on site.

"The freeway drivers have the right of way, not pedestrians. If your car is disabled, make yourself as visible as possible, attempt to call for emergency services, and do not cross the freeway,” Harris County Investigator Lt. Simon Cheng. “Make sure nothing strikes your body if you must exit your car and always yield to right of way.”

The driver of the sedan cooperated with authorities and according to police alcohol was not a factor. No charges are expected to be filed against the driver.
