Fatal Rollover Kills Two High School Girls

BLANCO, TX -- The Blanco Independent School District has confirmed two high school students were tragically killed in a fatal crash on Tuesday.

According to KXAN, the two teens, ages 16 and 14, were traveling in a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic on U.S. Highway 281. The Sonic was traveling northbound when it moved off the right side of the road and hit an embankment.

The crash caused the car to roll several times and the girls were ejected. The two girls were declared dead at the scene.

Blanco ISD issued a Facebook statement and announced grief counselors will be available for students.

“Blanco ISD is saddened at the loss of two of our amazing high school students. They both had contagious smiles and huge hearts. They will be missed. Our hearts and prayers are with the families during this difficult time. Counseling will be available for any student or staff member at BHS from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM for the next three days (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) to assist with grief.”
