4-Year-Old Killed In Memorial Day Shooting

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- A Memorial Day bar-b-que ended in tragedy after a 4-year-old boy was shot inside a San Antonio home.

According to KTXS, the 4-year-old and a 10-year-old were playing alone in a separate bedroom with a gun when the gun went off.

According to San Antonio Police Chief William McManus, it is not clear how the children gained access to the gun or who shot who at this moment.

After the shooting, someone inside the house tried to get the child to the hospital but were stuck in traffic caused by a crash that had occurred earlier. An ambulance that was nearby was able to transport the child to a nearby hospital.

The boy ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
