Teen Arrested After Shooting Three Family Members

 

SAN ANTONIO, TX – According to investigators with the San Antonio Police Department, 19-year-old Lance Tello has been arrested after he shot his mother, his little sister and his toddler after suffering a mental breakdown on Saturday. Police initially responded to the 9500 block of Five Forks on the West side of San Antonio following reports of a shooting after 2:00 a.m on Saturday.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a 49-year-old woman, a 14-year-old girl and a one-month-old baby with gunshot wounds. They were all rushed to University Hospital for treatment. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus states that there were a total of nine people inside the house at the time the 19-year-old had some sort of mental breakdown.

According to police, Tello first shot the baby, then shot his mother and sister when they ran into the room, then he ran from the home. The baby's mother was also inside the home, but was not injured. After a small pursuit Police were able to locate Tello several blocks away before taking him into custody.

Police reports state that the baby and the 14-year-old sister are in critical condition and still in surgery. The mother is listed as in stable condition at this time.

Tello has been charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault and also Injury to a Child, all of which are felonies. His bond has been set at a combined total of $500,000.
