Suspect Allegedly Killed The Mother of His Children

PFLUGERVILLE, TX – Demetrie Oneal has been arrested after he allegedly killed the mother of his children on Sunday night.

According to KXAN, Austin PD officers were called to a home on Forum Ave around 9:36 p.m. for reports of a gunshot victim.

Per a press release by APD, a neighbor called 9-1-1 and told police “two children ran to their home to alert them that their mother had been shot by their father.” The victim was identified as Lekita Hurd and was pronounced deceased at the scene at 9:55 p.m.

Oneal initially ran from the scene, but then returned and surrendered himself to police. He is currently in custody at the Travis County Jail.

The children have been placed with family at this time.
