IMPERIAL, TX – Texas DPS has confirmed three fatalities in a two-vehicle crash on FM 1053, a mile south of SH 329 near Imperial, on Wednesday evening.
According to reports, it was confirmed by Buena Vista's school board president that all three involved were students at the school district, prompting the district to close schools for the remainder of the week.
The district announced the closures in a social media post, adding that counselors will be available on campus to support grieving students and staff.
Texas DPS is urging drivers to avoid the area as investigations continue. No additional details about the cause of the crash have been released.
