GoFundMe Created For Ballinger Murder Victim’s Funeral

BALLINGER, TX - A GoFundMe has been created to help cover the funeral costs of a Ballinger woman allegedly murdered by her husband. 

We reported earlier that Mary Barker was found lifeless in her residence after law enforcement officers responded to a welfare check call. 

James Boyette Barker, 45, the husband of Mary, was detained by authorities.

Currently, James is being detained in the Runnels County Jail, as confirmed by the Ballinger Police Department.

The son of Mary, also named James, is leading the fundraising effort. 

“This was very unexpected and the family didn't have anything set aside for her,” information from the GoFundMe states. 

At the time of this reporting, the GoFundMe has $1,445 out of the $10,000 goal.
