Gov. Abbott in Del Rio Vows to Succeed on the Border Where Biden Failed

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott on Tuesday held a press conference in Del Rio where he vowed to continue surging state resources to secure the border and address the chaos in Del Rio created by the Biden Administration.

During his remarks, Governor Abbott thanked the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Military Department, and local personnel for their robust response to the Biden Administration's failure to enforce immigration laws, including the surge of more than 16,000 migrants arriving at the Del Rio International Bridge over the past week. The Governor also added that the State of Texas will continue to strategically deploy resources to other areas along the border as part of the ongoing efforts of Operation Lone Star.

The Governor was joined at the press conference by Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw, Texas Military Department Adjutant General Tracy Norris, and National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd. Speaker Dade Phelan, Representatives James White, Jared Patterson, Tracy King, and JM Lozano, Del Rio Mayor Bruno Lozano, Val Verde County Sheriff Joe Frank Martinez, and Val Verde County Judge Lewis Owens were also in attendance.

During his remarks, the Governor also thanked members of the Texas Legislature for passing House Bill 9, legislation providing an additional $2 billion in border security funding.

"The State of Texas is taking unprecedented steps to secure the border, and we will continue to respond in full force to keep Texans safe," said Governor Abbott. "The Biden Administration's failure to enforce immigration laws and halt illegal crossings on a federal dam poses life-threatening risks to Texans and the migrants themselves. Texans ― and all Americans ― demand and deserve a secure southern border and the protection of our nation's sovereignty. I thank the brave men and women of the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard for stepping up in the federal government's absence to address this crisis."

Governor Greg Abbott yesterday announced the availability of $100 million in grant funding through the Operation Lone Star Grant Program to enhance interagency border security operations supporting OLS. On Monday, the Governor sent a letter to President Joe Biden requesting an emergency declaration for the State of Texas as a result of the escalating crisis at the border, specifically due to the dire situation in Del Rio.

The Governor launched Operation Lone Star in early March to help secure the border and combat the smuggling of people and drugs in Texas. There are currently thousands of state personnel, including DPS troopers, agents, and rangers, and National Guard Soldiers who are engaged in the mission and working with local law enforcement. The Governor expanded the mission shortly after its launch to include anti-human trafficking efforts. Governor Abbott's plan to secure the border also includes the construction of a border wall, in addition to the use of strategic fencing and other barriers. A project manager for the initial stage of building the wall was announced September 16.

We have a good man for our Governor. I only wish we had a good man for our President.

Setting aside the border, which you admit yourself started under trump, and the afghanistan exit, again that was trumps plan that he took credit for and bragged Biden couldn't stop, both tired republican talking points that are used to enrage the republican base to keep them angry at democrats, what makes Biden a "bad man"?

First - you are a pathological liar. PROVE I said it started under Trump without lying or taking what I said out of context. You can't!

Second - Trump did have an exit plan, biden didn't follow it. As a matter of fact biden would even listen to his own military commanders on how to exit and managed to get several Americans and Allies killed or worse. He also has managed to give an entire country to an organized group of terrorists. Tell us some more lies, nobody.

You say it was still Biden's fault even though he wasn't president and trump's policies were still in place, which if true would just mean that trump's policies were ineffective anyway.

"As a matter of fact biden would even listen to his own military commanders on how to exit and managed to get several Americans and Allies killed or worse."

What's wrong with Biden listening to military commanders? Biden didn't kill anybody, terrorists did. Trump also let 5000 taliban prisoners out of prison in his deal, you never mention that though do you?

Trump bragged about how Biden "couldn't stop the process", he also admits that once we left the government would collapse no matter what we did.

Forgive my typo, it should have been (wouldn't). I feel sure most anybody would have known that but you.

CGM5, Tue, 09/21/2021 - 19:01

As usual you are trying to deflect the truth about your lies. Remember our conversation two paragraphs up? I called you a liar and gave you the chance to prove otherwise. You can't, simply because you are a liar.

Since it is obvious you are a pathological liar, why would anyone believe anything you have to say. Go back to your video games!

I proved you wrong with your own words when you denied saying something that I proved you did, and I am the liar? That's republicans for you, no personal accountability at all for anything they do or say.

Say what you want. The proof is in the links that you provided. All anyone has to do is click on those links and they will instantly see that YOU ARE A LIAR. Just keep spinning it, it's actually entertaining watching you squirm.

I'm out of here. Something more important just came up (a re-run of a National Geographic episode)

I will post the entire thing, it still proves that you said it started under trump,

"Yes you are absolutely correct. It did start under the last couple of months of Trump but, it was because of biden and his promises of amnesty, stopping border wall construction, and allowing all immigrants to come into the US instead of waiting in Mexico, increasing visas, and other things. Go ahead deny that! Covid caused it, my ass. Try some damn truth."

https://sanangelolive.com/comment/29555#comment-29555

Biden didn't stop border wall construction, end the wait in mexico order, or increase visa's until he was president months later, so those have no bearing on when or how it started since all of those were still in place when trump was president and when you say it started. The promises of amnesty and increasing visas (increasing seasonal workers) are for people who are attempting to come here legally, which you people claimed you were for, but have since backtracked and now want no immigrants at all. Not to mention that Biden wasn't president when he said that, trump was, so you are directly admitting Biden has more power as a citizen than trump did as president.

"I'm out of here."

Figures a republican would run away when confronted with their own words. Squirm much?
