Dyess Air Force Base Reopens to Visitors

ABILENE, TX – Dyess Air Force Base personnel announced they will reopen to visitors starting Thursday.

According to KTXS, visitors will be required to complete a public health questionnaire. DOD cardholders, retirees, disabled veterans, and other individuals that have access to base services will resume full access.

"There will be a health screening process, and our 7th Medical Group is currently coordinating to release those guidelines," said Dyess.

The base is asking everyone to follow CDC guidelines for social distancing and frequent hand washing.

"Before sponsoring an individual onto base, each sponsor should evaluate the risk of exposure and delay any visits which create unnecessary risk of COVID-19 transmission," said Dyess.

Certain base operations will still have modified levels of service and hours of operation.
