Weatherford Teen Dies Friday After Being Hit by a Truck

WEATHERFORD, TX. – Students at Weatherford High School mourn this morning for a classmate who lost his life over the weekend.

The 15-year-old, Ryan Segar, was crossing Interstate-20 when a truck hit him on Friday night. Ryan was riding home from seeing a movie with friends but never made it home.

The police notified the teenager’s parents that a vehicle had struck Segar as he was trying to cross the highway. Segar’s father noted that no one is to blame for the tragic accident, “The guy tried to stop, but it was a little, too late.”

The driver of the truck remained on the scene and was cooperative throughout the investigation. He will not be facing any charges for this incident, according to CBS.

Ryan Segar is being remembered for his love for engineering and art. Grief counselors are at the school to help any way they can. A GoFundMe page has been established to help the Segar’s family with funeral expenses at this sad and difficult time.
