ABILENE, TX — The San Angelo Central Bobcats tennis team squares off with Coppell on Thursday in the Regional Semifinal as the Bobcats and Lady Cats pursue a state championship.
First off, congratulations are in order for the Bobcats and Lady Cats. Central has claimed three playoff wins so far with their most recent victory coming on Tuesday at the Bush Tennis Center in Midland. The Bobcats and Lady Cats defeated El Paso Coronado 10-8 on Tuesday, October 14.
Central defeated El Paso Montwood 13-0 to claim a Bi-District Championship. Then the 'Cats beat Mansfield Lakeridge 13-0 to take home an Area Title. Finally, Central took home their victory in the Regional Quarterfinals with the win over El Paso Coronado.
Ranked No. 16 overall, Central squares off with No. 9 Coppell on Thursday afternoon. That matchup is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Abilene.
