SAN ANGELO, TX – The Angelo State men's basketball program has added JUCO product Jabbari Barry to the incoming class for the 2025-26 season.
Barry, a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, joins the Rams from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he played his first two seasons collegiately.
"We are excited to get Jabbari Barry into our program," ASU head coach Vinay Patel said. "Jabbari is a dynamic guard who can flat shoot the basketball. He can score in different ways and has played multiple guard positions during his time at Mississippi Gulf Coast."
Barry averaged 15.7 points per game, shooting 38.3% from three-point range. The second-team All-MACCC selection scored a season-high 28 points against East Mississippi CC with five 3-pointers.
"We love that he brings a level of confidence and grit to our team," said Patel. "He is an ultra-high-energy player that competes on both ends of the floor at a high level."
As a freshman, Barry scored 14.3 points per game on 45.6% shooting from deep en route to being named a second-team All-MACCC honoree. His career-high of 30 points came against Chipola College on Nov. 17 when he made 10 three-pointers in what was only his fifth-ever game at the collegiate level.
"Our staff loved the fact that Jabbari is an absolute gym rat. He does the little things that help cause wins, and we know he will jump right in and embrace the culture of our program," said Patel. "He has an infectious personality that our fans are going to love! We are excited to see him in the blue and gold."
Barry is the second addition of the offseason, along with top 10 Oklahoma high school prospect Davon Scott.
