Ozona Football Coach Taylor Accepts New Job in Alice

 

OZONA, TX — Ozona ISD head football coach and athletic director Jarryd Taylor has accepted a new job as the defensive coordinator in Alice.

Taylor spent the last five years in Ozona, compiling a record of 28-26 with four playoff appearances.

The Lions went 7-4 last season and finished in third place in District 3-2A Division I.

Taylor will be making the jump to the 5A Division II level in the South Texas town of Alice.

Taylor grew up in Ozona, where he was an all-state linebacker while playing for his father, Steve Taylor, from 2000-03.

After graduating from Ozona in 2004, Jarryd Taylor was an assistant coach for his father for six years at Denver City.

He also spent three years as the linebackers coach at Midland High, along with assistant coaching jobs at Brownfield and Coahoma.
