UIL State Executive Committee Suspends Dallas Football Coach

AUSTIN, TX — Dallas Samuell head football coach Danny Cobbin was suspended for two years by the UIL State Executive Committee on Monday for multiple violations, according to a report by Texas Football.

Cobbin was found to have falsified Previous Athletic Participation Forms, allowed non-school employees to coach and submitted false residency documents.

In addition to being suspended from coaching, Cobbin was given a public reprimand and three years probation. He will have to reappear before the UIL SEC before returning to coaching.

The allegations against Cobbin and the Samuell football program stemmed from emails that were submitted to the UIL in October, according to Texas Football. The emails alleged that Samuell also conducted practices outside of UIL guidelines.

A week later, a self-report from Dallas Independent School District to the UIL revealed that five Samuell football players were found to be ineligible, which caused seven wins to be forfeited and another game to be forfeited before it was played.

Samuell High School was also issued a public reprimand and placed on one year probation.
