SAN ANGELO, TX — The No. 4-ranked Angelo State University softball team lost all four games over the weekend to hit its first losing streak of the year.
The Rambelles were first swept by No. 3 West Texas A&M in Canyon, 10-6 and 8-7.
They then fell to Midwestern State in Wichita Falls by scores of 2-1 and 5-2.
The losses to West Texas A&M weren’t particularly surprising as they were on the road against one of the best teams in the country.
Being swept by Midwestern, however, was a little more unexpected as the Lady Mustangs were only 11-20 heading into the series.
ASU fell to 26-8 overall and 17-7 in Lone Star Conference play after the rough weekend.
Belles head coach Travis Scott also remains on 998 career wins.
Their road trip continues with two games in Odessa on Friday against UT Permian Basin.
