Lake View’s Packard Takes 4th at State Powerlifting Meet

 

ABILENE, TX — San Angelo Lake View’s Ethan Packard took fourth place in the 132-pound class Friday at the Division II state powerlifting meet in Abilene.

Packard had a total lift of 1,225 pounds. He had a squat of 510 pounds, a bench press of 305 and a deadlift of 410.

Packard earned two points for Lake View in the team standings, giving the Chiefs a 30th place finish.

Beeville Jones won the team title with 17 points, beating Perryton on a tiebreaker.

At the Division III state meet, Brady’s Nasir Menefield had the area’s best finish with a sixth-place showing in the super heavyweight class.

Menefield had a total lift of 1,735 pounds. He had a squat of 660, bench press of 475 and deadlift of 600.

San Angelo TLCA’s Braydon Kilgore was ninth in the same class with a total lift of 1,610 pounds (675 squat, 490 bench, 445 deadlift).

Grape Creek’s Lorenzo Longoria was 12th with a total lift of 1,365 (550 squat, 340 bench, 475 deadlift).

In the 198-pound class, Grape Creek’s Kaden Carpenter was 15th with a total lift of 1,470 (540 squat, 430 bench, 500 deadlift).

In the 123-pound class, TLCA’s Collin Majalca took 16th place with a total lift of 955 (335 squat, 215 bench, 405 deadlift).

The state meet will continue Saturday in Abilene with Divisions I and IV.
