Dallas Mavericks All-Star Kyrie Irving Suffers Season-Ending Injury

DALLAS, TX — Dallas Mavericks All-Star guard Kyrie Irving suffered a season-ending torn ACL in his left knee, the team announced Tuesday.

Irving, 32, was injured Monday late in the first quarter of the Mavericks’ loss to Sacramento.

It’s the latest blow dealt to the Mavericks, who traded away Luka Doncic last month only to have the main return in that trade, Anthony Davis, injured in his first game with Dallas.

Irving averaged 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists this season. He has a $43 million player option for the 2025-26 season, the last year of his contract.

The Mavericks are also missing Dereck Lively, Daniel Gafford and Caleb Martin, along with Jaden Hardy, who was also injured Monday.
