Astros Hot Streak Cooled Against the Blue Jays

TORONTO, CANADA—The Houston Astros saw their hot streak come to an end on Tuesday against the Toronto Blue Jays. The owners of the best record in the MLB in June, Houston mounted a furious comeback but were ultimately stymied by the Blue Jays. The Astros lost 7-6.

Former Astro George Springer’s three-run shot in the bottom of the 3rd against his old team proved to be just what the Blue Jays needed to stop one of the hottest offenses in the MLB.

Down 7-0 in the 5th, the Astros battled back with a huge five-run inning to pull the game close. Jordan Alvarez hit a home run of his own to kick Houston into gear after a slow start. The Astros would score one more run in the top of the 8th inning, but it was not enough as the Blue Jays held on to win.

Blue Jays Jose Berrios received the win for his five-inning performance.

Astros RHP Ronel Blanco (8-3, 2.49 ERA) will start Wednesday night against Toronto. First pitch is scheduled for 6:07 p.m.
